Due to the growth of Mr. Bell’s solo practice, William L. Bands joined Mr. Bell as an Associate Attorney in 1993, and worked his way to a partnership in the firm beginning January 1, 2000. A native of Huntington, West Virginia, Mr. Bands received his B.A., cum laude, in Journalism/Public Relations from Marshall University in 1986 and his law degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1992. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Bands worked as a public relations and fundraising specialist with the Boy Scouts of America. While in law school, Mr. Bands served as an intern/assistant clerk to the Honorable William O. Bertelsmann, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Kentucky at Covington, just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. Concentrating his practice on the defense of business clients, Mr. Bands is equally adept at prosecuting civil claims on behalf of business and individual clients, and directs the firm’s legal research and writing activities. Mr. Bands is a member of the ABA Section on Tort and Insurance Law, the Defense Research Institute, and the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia, and an avid fan of Marshall University.
