HARRY BELL: The employment will doctrine in West Virginia, like many states, provides that basically you don't have a guarantee of a job, that if for some reason your employer wants to discharge you, they can go ahead and discharge you. And there's really nothing you can do about it. However, what we find is, sadly, too many people are terminated through situations, no fault of their own, and you can't take adverse employment action against them.

Harassment in an employment sense is basically taking advantage of an employee, berating them, making their life so miserable it goes above and beyond what a reasonable person should expect to happen in the workplace.
