If you or a loved one has undergone a procedure involving AlloDerm, talk to your doctor about any concerns about your health you may have.

Although AlloDerm was originally developed to treat severe burn injuries, today it is commonly used in hernia repairs and breast reconstructions following mastectomies. It is generally a safe way to help skin regenerate, or grow over lesions caused by injuries or surgeries. However, like all medical products, AlloDerm does have certain risks.
Potential Risks:
A hernia is an opening in the lining of an organ that allows the organ to protrude from it. This opening can be surgically repaired using a mesh of biological tissue such as AlloDerm. Unfortunately, this procedure can sometimes lead to medical complications, such as:
- Mesh Implant
- Ring Breakage
- Mesh Tears
- Defective Mesh
- Mesh Perforation
- Adhesion Issues
- Mesh Erosion
Complications like these may also arise in other surgeries involving AlloDerm. They can be very dangerous and extremely painful. In addition, you may need to undergo additional surgeries leading to more medical expenses and additional recovery
