Attention Vytorin® Users
Have you been on Vytorin® and have recently been taken off the medication and put on a less expensive statin? Recent information from the ENHANCE drug trial seems to suggest that Vytorin® works no better and possibly could pose greater risks than far cheaper generics such as Zocor®.
Allegations have been raised that the manufacturers of Vytorin® were aware of the problems showing up in the ENHANCE study before publically acknowledging and releasing the information.
The New York Attorney General and a congressional investigation have begun and the companies have pulled their advertising for this drug. Dr Steven E. Nissen Chairman of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic has been quoted by Forbes Magazine and The Wall Street Journal as saying "This drug doesn't work. Period. It just doesn't work." He has also said the ENHANCE study suggests "physicians should stop using Vytorin® as a primary therapy for patients with high cholesterol."
If you have questions about whether or not Vytorin® is appropriate for your condition, please consult your physician. For information on your legal rights, including the ability to recover the costs paid for the prescription, please contact Doris Stowers at The Bell Law Firm, PLLC at 866-912-3007 or 304-932-4225 or dastowers@belllaw.com
